It’s been another stimulating month in the world of insurance. For our fellow insurance boffins out there, we’ve seen exciting news from across the globe as well as the latest anouncement of the most innovative insurtechs taking the industry by storm.
A look back on October…
This month, we’ve seen Insurers and insurtechs alike looking to solidify positions. Lemonade, having launched in the UK with Aviva, has announced a partnership with Chewy whilst AXA forged ahead with plans to strengthen its position in Spain through acquiring GACM. Insurance digitisation is clearly still going strong as AXA retail announced its digital-only platform for retain business and Prudential plc partnered up with Google to amp up its data capabilities. Meanwhile, Allstate and Geico are both investing in their claims processes.
Meanwhile, Sønr announced 2022’s edition of the Insurtech 100 which gave some interesting food for thought as to the direction of the industry. For anyone who hasn’t heard of the Insurtech 100, it’s a list tirelessly created by the team at Sønr and judged by a panel of insurance experts – well worth a read for anyone looking towards to more digitally enabled side of our industry. As partnerships and acquisitions become more commonplace over the next few years, expect to see those names in bigger and brighter lights.

As partnerships and acquisitions become more commonplace over the next few years, expect to see those names in bigger and brighter lights. How long will it be until we regularly see insurtech CEOs joining Daniel Schreiber interviewed by prominent broadcasters?
