California home insurance provider Hippo has announced that John “Jay” Nichols Jr. will join the board of directors.
Who is Jay?
An industry veteran, Jay has worked in the insurance and reinsurance world for over 40 years. His experience has seen him hold positions in both leadership and boardrooms and was recently Interim CEO and Chairman at Protective Insurance Company. Among his many, and considerable, previous roles are CEO at Axis Reinsurance and President at Renaissance Re Ventures as well as current board positions at Delaware North, Brit Re and Sussex Re, Enhanzed Re, Chelsea Avondale/Max Insurance and has also been on the board of National General Reinsurance. Whilst in his previous role, Jay helped the acquisition of the company by Progressive and comes at a time when rising temperatures across the globe are causing concern for particular homeowners.
